BauWatch is the market leader in construction site monitoring – with a clear product, a strong data foundation through the annual Crime Report, and a growing presence in new segments such as renewable energies and critical infrastructure. However, a strong market position alone does not protect against a blind spot: those who do not appear as an answer source in AI-powered search lose visibility to competitors – even if they lead in content.
EPOS was commissioned to systematically prepare the existing website structure and the existing content of BauWatch Germany for Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) .
BauWatch was not in a build-up phase, but in an activation phase: The relevant content – solution pages, product pages, FAQ areas, and the Crime Report 2026 as a proprietary data asset – already existed. What was missing was an architecture that AI search systems could use as an answer source.
EPOS analyzed the entire German website with 98 URLs and derived a prioritized topic architecture from it. The focus was on the topic clusters with the highest combination of business fit, conversion proximity, and GEO differentiation: construction site crime and theft prevention, the comparison of mobile video surveillance with classic security services, GDPR-compliant surveillance solutions, self-sufficient systems without power, as well as security requirements around KRITIS and NIS2.
For each topic area, concrete artifacts were developed – decision trees, comparison tables, checklists, and FAQ modules with FAQPage schema – that can be more easily understood, cited, and linked to decision-makers' questions by AI search engines. The Crime Report 2026 was integrated into the entire content architecture not just as a press topic, but as a citable data source.
The GEO concept provides BauWatch with a clear roadmap: seven prioritized topic clusters, a complete content architecture with pillar pages, cluster articles, and internal link paths, as well as a 3-month plan with twelve articles that activate existing strengths before new topic areas are developed.
The strategic foundation is in place to establish BauWatch as the first source of answers in AI-powered search for questions about construction site security, mobile surveillance, and infrastructure protection – thereby translating the reach of the Crime Report and thought leadership work directly into organic visibility.
