On the road to success with target group-relevant communication

The task.

A sale, acquisition or merger presents companies with challenges for which very few are prepared. This has also been the experience of Compleo Charging Solutions AG, a leading provider of charging technology for the electromobility industry, has also had this experience. The company was recently taken over by an investor, a situation that brings with it enormous and completely new demands on internal and external communication. The company therefore relied on the support of the experienced communications experts at EPOS during this special time.

The solution.

Tailor-made and comprehensive M&A communication, i.e. special PR and public relations work in times of a company merger or takeover, made a significant contribution to the success of the transaction, both when it came about and during the purchase and post-merger integration. The focus was always on gaining the acceptance of all stakeholder groups and overcoming transaction barriers.

To achieve this, the EPOS team created messages tailored to the respective stakeholders and delivered them internally and externally via suitable communication channels. Examples include cover letters to and for employees on the intranet, press releases for the media, mailings, social media content, personal addresses, interviews and much more. The board members acted as ambassadors for the sale. In this way, a multi-layered dialogue could be established with employees, partners, etc. so that they always felt fully informed and taken seriously.

The results.

The CEO played a central role in the communication concept developed jointly by EPOS and Compleo. The main focus was on keeping an eye on all relevant groups and taking their specific sensitivities and interests into account in the communication. This was achieved through tailor-made and thematically coordinated live addresses and written content, regular social media posts and press interviews.

Throughout the entire M&A process, EPOS consistently aligned Compleo's communication with the goals of the transaction. In addition, the agency always worked closely with the Management Board, external law firms and management consultancies. In this way, it was possible to build and maintain acceptance among the various stakeholder groups.
