Awareness for the plastic waste problem

Awareness for the plastic waste problem

Case Study: Nonprofit Organization

The task.

Every year, tons of plastic waste end up in the Rhine and later in the sea. There they endanger animals, plants and entire ecosystems - while most people in Germany don't even notice the problem. Blockblocks Cleanup is a non-profit organization that works to protect bodies of water by organizing cleanups against plastic pollution in the oceans. This prevents trash from flowing down the Rhine River in the first place, harming and endangering plants and animals along the way. To make this commitment visible and inspire others, Blockblocks is working with EPOS.

Solution.

EPOS supports Blockblocks' commitment with comprehensive PR and marketing services. We accompany events, develop media-appropriate stories and regularly bring Blockblocks' important messages to the media.

The result.

A highlight of the collaboration was a creative storytelling campaign based on a discovered message in a bottle. This story gained widespread coverage, with prominent media including Express, RTL, Rheinische Post, WDR and many others. In just one month, we reached an impressive four million viewers and readers. This campaign was instrumental in significantly raising awareness for Blockblocks Cleanup in Düsseldorf. Our message was clear: to draw attention to clean rivers and oceans. An alarming fact is that 80 percent of the trash carried into the sea each year comes from land.

"I am hugely excited about EPOS' commitment to communications and marketing. We have already been able to achieve a tremendous media reach of several million readers and viewers, which significantly advances our awareness and recognition among the population. There are great, creative people with a big heart working at EPOS!"
